GIS Tech Robin Purvis Assists WLPD in Investigations

West Liberty Police Chief Kelse Hensley tasked GIS Tech Robin Purvis with designing maps that defines the positions of daycare facilities, which will assist with investigations of criminal offenses in accordance with Megan's Law.  "Sex offenders whom are required to register are prohibited from living within a 1000 feet of a school or licensed daycare facility.  Robin is creating a database by pre-positioning 1000 foot circles from every daycare facility and school using Global Information Systems (GIS) software.  Those predetermined locations will speed investigations of reported violations.", said Chief Hensley.
