recognizes individuals for their service to our community

0825hrs 03/17/2010 a
tractor trailer and Ranger pickup collided on Main Street in front of Licking
Valley RECC causing the Ranger to overturn onto its side. The tractor and
trailer was being operated by Darrell Perkins 42 of Campton, Perkins was not
injured and refused medical treatment. The Ranger Pickup was being operated by
Vernie K. Adkins 57 of West Liberty, Mrs. Adkins was mechanically extricated
from her vehicle and transported by Morgan EMS to Morgan County ARH where she
was treated for head and back injuries and released the next day. Responders
included West Liberty Police Department, West Liberty Fire Department, Morgan
EMS, Morgan County Rescue Squad and Mrs. Tammy Standafer in the far background.

Mrs. Standafer, one of several Licking Valley RECC employees who heard the crash
and rushed to the scene. Mrs. Standafer saw a need and began directing traffic
around the crash scene until she was relieved by emergency personnel.
In recognition & appreciation for her assistance with the collision
occurring 17 March Friday April 9th 2010 West Liberty Mayor Jim Rupe
declared Mrs. Standafer an Honorary Police Officer for the City of West liberty
Mayor Rupe also declared Tabitha Schnell an Honorary West Liberty Police Officer
in recognition & appreciation of her assistance to the City and West Liberty
Police Department.
