Members of the
Morgan County Law Enforcement Christmas Fund traveled to
Paintsville Monday, December 17th, 2007, to purchase 137 Christmas
presents to provide to misfortunate children in Morgan County. The
MCLECF worked closely with Morgan County's Commonwealth
of Department of Protection and Permanency and received a detailed number
of boys and girls who needed presents. It was a scene that can
only be described as "kids in a candy shop" as the group
descended upon the toy aisles in Wal-Mart in Paintsville.
"Wal-Mart of Paintsville were very generous not only with their
time in helping us with locating prices and specific toys, but also for
donating $250.00 to our cause."
Once all the
purchases were made, the MCLECF members returned to the West Liberty Police Department to
complete the tedious task of wrapping the gifts. On December 19th,
the MCLECF members delivered all
137 to all the Gateway Headstart Centers in Morgan County.
