The West Liberty Police Department is now taking employment applications for Telecommunications Officer.  Applications may be picked up at the West Liberty Police Department at 561 Main St., West Liberty, KY  41472.  Applications may also be downloaded here.

Minimum requirements are:  Be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of drug screening, a successful background investigation and submit to departmental dress and appearance code.

General Duties:  Receives all incoming communications, including 911 calls; relay messages to appropriate personnel/agencies.  Dispatch; Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Rescue vehicles.  Operate computer and other office equipment.  Must have the ability to act quickly, calmly and correctly in emergency situations.  Must have the ability to type and maintain accurate files.  Must have the ability to serve tactfully and courteously with the public.  Must also work proficiently with other agencies.  Must be willing to work a schedule that includes day, evening, night, weekday, or weekend.  Pay range is $7.22 to $10.84 per hour.  Pay is negotiable depending on experience.  Excellent benefits, include, vacation, sick time, medical, dental, insurance, and retirement.
