The City of

is now taking employment applications for the position of
E-911 Telecommunications Officer. Applications may be picked up
at City Hall between 0800hrs & 1600 hrs. Applications will be
received until March 20th, 2009
till the end of business hours.
Minimum requirements are: Be
18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent,
successful completion Dept of Criminal Justice Training program within
6 months of starting date. Telecommunications
Officer Candidate must successfully complete a written test, oral
interview, drug screening, stringent back ground investigation and
submit to departmental dress & appearance code prior to employment
by this agency.

Examination
General Duties:
include but not limited to receiving all incoming communications; relay
messages to appropriate personnel / agencies. Dispatch; Police, Fire,
Ambulance, and Rescue personnel through a E-911 Computer
Aided Dispatching system (CAD). Operate
computer and other office equipment.
Candidates must have the ability to quickly, calmly and correctly
serve the public in an emergency. Must have the ability to type and
maintain accurate files. Must have the ability to serve tactfully and
courteously with the public. Must also work proficiently with other
agencies. Must be willing work a schedule that includes all shifts and
emergency call out. Pay is negotiable depending on experience.
