On Sunday 09/30 vandalism at
Kiwanis
Park
was reported to West Liberty Police. Sometime Saturday night someone had kicked
the doors in on the new concession stand located by the tennis court; the only
thing taken was an open can of chili and bottles of Gatorade and bottled water.
During the same time period someone climbed over the fence at the swimming pool
and broke mirrors in the restrooms and tore down shower curtains.
On Sunday 09/30 two thefts were reported to the West
Liberty Police. Both thefts were from vendors at the Morgan County Sorghum
festival. The first theft reportedly occurred sometime between 8pm Saturday
evening and 11am Sunday, taken were two blanket throws one blue and white
squares and one red, white, and blue squares with Christmas scenes, both were 64
by 64 inch square. The second reported theft occurred sometime before 6pm Sunday
evening someone had stolen a cash box containing several hundred dollars from
one of the vendor’s booths.
